Confirmation Confirmation increases and deepens the grace of Baptism, imprinting an indelible character on the soul. It strengthens the individual's bond with the Church and increases in them the gifts of the Holy Spirit to help them bear witness to the Christian faith in words and deeds. The bishop is the ordinary minister for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Celebration of the sacrament is held at Sacred Heart Cathedral. At Our Mother of Sorrows Church, an individual may prepare for the sacrament when the parents and the Church determine that they are ready. There is no specific age or grade for reception of the sacrament. However, the preparation materials are generally geared for those in junior high school or above. Confirmation
